Mr. & Mrs. Gerald P. Zimmer, Red Lion, Pennsylvania, recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.

The couple was married on Oct. 13, 1990 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Plymouth with the late Rev. E. D. Hettinger officiating. Rev. Hettinger married the bride’s parents there 31 years prior. The reception was held at the Kozy K Restaurant in Ashley. The couple traveled to Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard for their honeymoon.

Their attendants were Jacque (Conner) Dwyer, maid of honor; Susan Caglia and Mary (Zimmer) Darling, bridesmaids; Jessica Lyons, flower girl; Gary Zimmer, best man; Troy Gordon and Edward Lowe, groomsmen.

Janice, the daughter of Libby Whisenhunt, Edwardsville, and the late Alvin Whisenhunt, is a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School, Plymouth. She obtained a B.A. in psychology from California University of Pennsylvania in 1989. Janice is an avid photographer. She also volunteers and fosters cats and kittens for the Feline Rescue Association (FRA).

Gerry is the son of Gary Zimmer, Butler, Pennsylvania, and the late Anne Marie Zimmer.

He is a graduate of Butler Area High School, Butler, Pennsylvania. He earned a B.S. in math/computer science from California University of Pennsylvania in 1990. Gerry has been employed at Social Security Administration since July, 1990.

The Zimmers share their lives with their spoiled cats. They both are involved with cat rescue and have been cat fosters for the Feline Rescue Association since 2013. They enjoy traveling, attending Renaissance Faires, and riding motorcycles.

The couple is celebrating this milestone with a trip to Ireland.
