Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Olejnik, Swoyersville, are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary Aug. 4, 2016. They wre married Aug. 4, 1951 in the former St. John the Baptist Church, Pittston.

Their attendants were Dan Olejnik, brother of Mr. Olejnik and the late Anne Krulick Lasky, sister of Mrs. Olejnik.

Mr. Olejnik is the son of the late Joseph (Yosh) Olejnik and the late Helen Zavada Olejnik. Mrs. Olejnik is the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Shoemaker Krulick.

Mr. Olejnik is retired from the State of Pennsylvania where he served as a school auditor. He is also a retired accomplished musician having played saxophone and clarinet with the U.S. Army Band during the Korean conflict. He then played with many area bands until forming his own band called The Hi Tones.

Mrs. Olejnik was a seamstress working in many former dress factories but lastly retiring from the former Flory Fashions, Swoyersville. She is also an avid Phillies fan.

They are the parents of three children. Mark Olejnik, JoAnn Guido and Joseph K. Olejnik, all of Swoyersville.

They have four grandchildren; Justin, Nicholas, Jessica and Kody Olejnik.

Mr. and Mrs. Olejnik are members of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville, where Mr. Olejnik serves as an usher and where Mrs. Olejnik was a former member of its choir.

A family dinner is planned at the home of their daughter, JoAnn Guido.
