Ronald & Catherine (Harman) Scheff celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 4, 2017.

They were married June 3, 1967 at the Wharton United Methodist Church, Wharton, New Jersey, by the late Rev. Norman W. Walz.

The wedding party consisted of family and friends. Maid of honor was Jane (Harman) Hubert. Bridesmaids were the late Anna Youngman, the late Patricia (Nickerson) Martin, and Mary Jo (Montel) Kapuschinsky. The ushers were Thomas Wright and the late Randall Peterson.

Catherine is the former Catherine Emma Harman, daughter of the late Loy L. Harman Jr. and Emma (Beebe) Harman. Ronald’s parents were Paul J. Scheff and Shirley (Jones) Scheff.

Ronald pursued a career as a broadcast engineer working for WVIA, WBRE and retiring from WNEP. Catherine retired from the Social Security Administration.

They are very proud of their children, Joseph R. Scheff and Ann P. (Scheff) Sowers. Joseph (Calesta Schmitt) is chief of major item requirements for the US Army Communications-Electronics Command and works at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds, in Maryland. Ann (Mark Sowers) is a retired special education teacher from the Stroudsburg school system and currently working for the city of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

They are also very proud of their granddaughter, Madelyn Victoria Scheff.

The couple spent the first 16- years of married life living in Bayonne, New Jersey, before moving to Dallas, Pennsylvania, 34 years ago.

A dinner was held at the Irem Country Club with many friends and family. The couple will continue their celebration with a cruise to New England and Canada.
