DALLAS: Misericordia University is holding an information session on its Physician Assistant Program at 5 p.m. on Thursday in room 206 of the Hafey-McCormick Science Building.


The program is now accepting applications from graduate students, who already hold a bachelor's degree and meet other entrance requirements, looking to enter the physician assistant field.


The five-year combined Bachelor of Science in Medical Science and Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies is also open to freshmen undergraduate students as a 3+2-year course of study.


Faculty members and representatives from financial aid will be available to answer questions about the program and admissions requirements.


Reservations are encouraged, but not required.

FREELAND: MMI Preparatory School is holding a visitation night at 6 tonight. Families will have the opportunity to learn more about the school from members of the administration and Thomas G. Hood, head of school.

KINGSTON TWP.: The Kingston Township Recreation Commission is holding a Thanksgiving food drive for the Back Mountain Food Pantry until Friday.


Items needed are non-perishable, non-refrigerated canned foods and dry food products in non-breakable containers.


Residents can drop off their donations during regular business hours at the Kingston Township Municipal Building, 180 E. Center St., Shavertown. Monetary donations will also be accepted.


NANTICOKE: Luzerne County Community College is holding an information night for engineering, trades and technology programs from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the college's Advanced Technology Center and Building 2.


Participants will have the opportunity to meet with faculty and employers as well as tour the college's technology facilities.


Information on enrollment procedures, career opportunities, tuition and financial aid will be available.

WILKES-BARRE: The Wilkes-Barre Kiwanis Club, in celebration of the long-standing history of service of its Wheelchair Club, is hosting its annual Thanksgiving luncheon in conjunction with the Wilkes-Barre Lions and Wilkes-Barre Rotary clubs.


The community is invited to attend the luncheon to be held at noon on Tuesday at the Genetti Hotel and Conference Center, 77 E. Market St., Wilkes-Barre.


William Harris, executive vice president, Kiwanis Wheelchair Club, will share some history about the club's activities. Testimonials will be given by Betty McDonald, Complete Personal Home Care, and Tamara Henderson, Bayada Nurses. To donate equipment or make a wheelchair request, contact the Wheelchair Club at 824-6096.
