YORK -- A man who ran from police in his underwear in March -- as officers converged on his Dover Township home to arrest him on drug charges -- turned himself in Nov. 7, according to police.

Armando Vazquez Jr., 40, is in York County Prison on $25,000 bail, facing charges of possession with intent to deliver cocaine, conspiracy and possession of a firearm by a felon.

We had spent a significant amount of time, along with the U.S. Marshals, looking for him, said Detective First Class Andy Shaffer of the York County Drug Task Force. It's good to put that to rest and move on to something else.

The morning of March 27, York County Drug Task Force officers, along with help from the York County Quick Response Team, went to Vazquez's Dover Township home in the 2700 block of Pineview Drive to serve a search warrant.

Vazquez was the subject of a task force investigation, Shaffer said.

We've known about him for a while, he said. You see these guys that don't work having three cars and living in a nice place and you know they're selling thousands of dollars worth of cocaine each week.

But when Vazquez, who was outside his home waling his dog, saw police closing in on him, he ran, leaving his dog and his pregnant girlfriend, who was inside the house, police said.
