James Byers and Tracy Chmielewski were united in marriage on Sept. 2, 2012, at Firwood United Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. The Rev. Barbara Pease officiated the ceremony.


The bride is the daughter of Patricia Kalinowski, Wapwallopen, Pa., and Jack Chmielewski, Jacksonville, Fla. She is the granddaughter of the late John and Pearl Chmielewski, Wapwallopen.


The groom is the son of Janet Byers, Dallas, Pa., and James Hivish Jr., Forkston, Pa. He is the grandson of the late Ruth Byers, Wilkes-Barre, and James Hivish Sr., Plains Township.


Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose her friend, Lisa Bryan, as her maid of honor and her sister, Andrea O'Neill, as her matron of honor. Her cousin, Carrie Erwine, and niece, Cameron O'Neill, were bridesmaids. The flower girl was her cousin and daughter of Ms. Erwine, Cady.


The groom chose his brother, Michael Hivish, as his best man. The groomsmen were his brother-in-law, Sean O'Neill; nephew, Jason O'Neill; and father-in-law, John Kalinowski. The ring bearer was his nephew and son of Mr. Hivish, Hunter.


The bride and groom were escorted to and from the altar by members of George M. Dallas Lodge No. 531. Brothers Christopher Matus, PM; Jonathan Sinclair, WM; David Evans Jr.; and Robert McGuire Jr. also served as ushers.


The reception was held at Bentley's in Ashley with photography by Linda Paul.


Tracy is a graduate of Nanticoke Area High School. She is employed as an account manager with Travelocity, Hanover Township.


James, formerly James Hivish, is a graduate of Meyers High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in communications from Bloomsburg University and an associate's degree in social science from Luzerne County Community College. He is employed at Offset Paperback, Laflin.


The couple honeymooned in Myrtle Beach, S.C., and resides in Conyngham Township.
