It was announced Friday that Mercury Nashville recording artist and former American Idol winner, Scotty McCreery, will make his F.M. Kirby Center debut on Saturday, April 20 at 8 p.m.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Dec. 14 at 10 a.m. and will be available at the Kirby Center Box Office, charge by phone at (570) 826-1100 and online at www.kirbycenter.org.

A special Kirby Member Pre-Sale begins Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 10 a.m.

McCreery released his debut album, Clear as Day, in Oct. 2011, following his triumphant run on American Idol. The album went Platinum in just a few short months, breaking sales records in both digital and internet releases. He also became the first country artist to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

The 18-year-old North Carolina native has already toured the U.S. arena circuit, opening for country superstar Brad Paisley, and recently won a CMT Award for �??USA Breakthrough Video of the Year.�?� The Academy of Country Music also recognized him as 2012�??s �??Best New Artist.�?�

His latest album, Christmas with Scotty McCreery, was released in Oct. 2012 and boasts two new holidays songs and nine classics. It debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard country charts.

Tickets for the April show in Wilkes-Barre are $49-$99.
