Oscar nominations announced for supporting actor

(AP) The 85th annual Academy Award nominations for supporting actor in a motion picture have been announced in Beverly Hills, Calif., by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The nominees announced Thursday morning are: Alan Arkin, Argo; Robert De Niro, Silver Linings Playbook; Philip Seymour Hoffman, The Master; Tommy Lee Jones, Lincoln; Christoph Waltz, Django Unchained.

The Oscars will be presented Feb. 24 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, hosted by Seth MacFarlane and airing live on ABC.
