YATESVILLE – Pittston Area used a big third quarter to break away from Wyoming Valley West and pick up a 55-36 win at home Thursday evening in Wyoming Valley Conference girls basketball action.


Mia Hopkins led the Patriots, who went on a 19-8 run in the third, with 22 points while teammate Liz Waleski tossed in 12.


Olivia Hoffman (nine) led the Spartans in scoring.
