LUZERNE COUNTY — The Wilkes-Barre office of the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited the following establishments for allegedly violating the state liquor and crimes codes by possessing or operating gambling devices or paraphernalia or permitting gambling or lotteries, pool selling and/or bookmaking on the premises:
• Shawnee Plymouth Post No. 425 Veterans of Foreign Wars Home Association, 111 W. Main St., Plymouth, on Aug. 30, 2012.
• Dorothy M. Rygiel — Rygiel’s Pub, 178 Main St., Dupont, on Nov. 22, 2011 and June 7, 2012.
• McVetz Inc., operating as Two-G’s Restaurant, 3381 Bear Creek Blvd., Bear Creek Township, on Jan. 27.
SCRANTON — Federal drug charges have been filed against a Pittston man as the result an investigation into an alleged Pittston-area drug ring.
Frank Suriano, 44, has been charged with conspiring to distribute more than 500 grams of cocaine hydrochloride and with distributing cocaine on numerous occasions, according to a Wednesday announcement by Peter J. Smith, U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
If Suriano is found to be guilty, he could face a maximum of up to 60 years in prison, a term of supervised release and a fine.
The indictment marks a continuation of an investigation into a Pittston-area drug ring by FBI agents, state police and the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.
