SWOYERSVILLE — Borough Council wants to reactivate the Recreation Board and needs members. Interested residents should call 288-6581. More information related to the board will be forthcoming.

KINGSTON TWP. — Township officials announce the appointment of Laura Slocum as tax collector. A lifelong resident of the township, she lives in Shavertown with her husband, Bartt. She holds a degree in business from Luzerne County Community College, attended Bloomsburg University, possesses a real estate license and has a background in banking. Hours for the tax collector’s office will remain the same: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Thursday.

KINGSTON TWP. — Township officials announce Karen Rose has accepted the position of assistant township manager. Tax collector for 13 years, she took on the duties of assistant township manager, in addition to her own, for the past year. She possesses a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Bloomsburg University and has an extensive background in accounting and real estate.
