VISUAL ARTS/PERFORMING ARTS

Spring Concert, April 19, at Baptist Bible College, Murphy Memorial Library, at 8 p.m., continuing April 20 at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. The Musical Department of Baptist Bible College will present the Concert Chorale, Chamber Singers and faculty and student vocalists and instrumentalists. Open Mic Night, April 19 at the Dietrich Theater in downtown Tunkhannock at 7 p.m. The evening’s feature performance, Here We Are in Spain, will begin at 8:15 p.m. Cost: Free. “Groovy Tones to Soothe your Soul” concert, April 19 at New Visions Studio and Gallery, 201 Vine St., Scranton, at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Features bands Eye On Attraction; Atlas Arrows, Binghamton, N.Y.; Static In The Attic; and In Writing. The University of Scranton Jazz Band and Erica von Kleist in concert, April 20 in the Houlihan-McLean Center at 7:30 p.m. Performance Music at The University of Scranton presents Erica von Kleist, saxophonist and flautist, in concert with The University of Scranton Jazz Band. Cost: free. Von Kleist will also offer a workshop on the use of her approach to teaching jazz theory and improvisation the same morning. “Auntie Mame” Live Theatre, April 24 through 27 at 7 p.m. and April 28 at 3 p.m. at the Dietrich Theater in downtown Tunkhannock. Directed by: Jennifer Jenkins. Sponsored by: the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. Based on Patrick Dennis’ bestselling 1955 novel about his aunt, “Auntie Mame” is an unforgettable show. Cost: $10. Tickets/info: 996.1500.

Spring Craft Fair, April 20 at New Visions Studio and Gallery, 201 Vine Street, Scranton, from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Indoor and outdoor vendors will offer original artwork, vintage and handmade jewelry, candles, baked goods, oils and herbal remedies, vintage accessories, Mary Kay, honey and syrup from local farms and more. Cost: free admission.
