WILKES-BARRE - The city’s skyline has forever changed when the last section of the Hotel Sterling was turned into rubble Tuesday morning.

Crews from Brdaric Excavating Co. are finishing up demolition of the 115-year-old, seven-story building. It took crews three days to completely demolish the building that stood at West Market and North River streets.

North River Street from the Market Street Bridge to Jackson Street is closed to traffic.

Traffic entering the city from the Market Street Bridge is being detoured onto South River Street.
