The Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority has filed a lien against Luzerne County seeking $53,650 in sewage treatment fees dating back to April 2010 on a property identified as “old Valley Crest.”

The county-owned former Valley Crest Nursing Home building in Plains Township has been vacant since January 2010, when Complete HealthCare relocated its nursing home operation to the newly constructed Timber Ridge Health Care Center.

The lien says the money owed includes fees and interest for services provided through Dec. 31, 2013.

County Chief Solicitor C. David Pedri said he is reviewing the lien “to see if it is legitimate” and will assess the county’s options.
