The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wish of a child diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition every 38 minutes. It brings the light and hope back to the child that is needed to succeed.

Amber Fischl and Brian DeMorrow teamed up with King’s Restaurant in Mountain Top to help make a child’s wish come true. The child is a 9 year-old boy from White Haven who has heart problems. His wish was to go to Disney World and it is coming true this October.

Jan-Pro Cleaning Systems, Commercial Cleaning Systems and Solutions and King’s Restaurant are putting on a fall deck party to raise money for the little boy’s wish to come true. The event is from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 19, at 49 S. Mountain Blvd. Fischl and DeMorrow have granted wishes for the foundation before and are hoping their collaboration with King’s Restaurant can become an annual event.

The event is $65, which includes access to King’s patio, a premium buffet of appetizers, a two-course meal, four craft beers that are paired to compliment the meal and a gift bag that includes three premium cigars. Patrons can also purchase a $35 donation ticket that will go directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Businesses can buy a sponsor table for $75.

“We aren’t even sure how much money we have raised yet because we are hoping that the basket raffles and 50/50 raffles will only add to our combined total,” Fischl said. “We also hope that those who are just at the restaurant will want to join the cause and donate to the foundation.”
