Robert Thomas Whispell, 57, of Archbald, passed away Tuesday at the Regional Hospital of Scranton.
Mr. Whispell was born in Wilkes-Barre on Oct. 9, 1955, and was a son of the late Joseph and Edna Derhammer Whispell.
Robert attended Dallas High School and graduated from trucking school in the 1980s. He was employed as a driver for American Asphalt Co., Shavertown. He retired as driver from Wesley Village in Jenkins Township. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Mr. Whispell was preceded in death by his wife, Gale Ann Boyer Whispell; a son, Jeramy Robert Whispell; and a brother, Kenneth Whispell.
Surviving are daughter, Heather Hudak, her husband, Joseph, Jessup; brothers Carl Whispell and his wife, Polly, Harveys Lake, and Richard Whispell and his wife, Betty, Vernon; sisters, Beverly Sowers and her husband, Mark, N.C.; Joann Newell and her husband, Richard, Tunkhannock; Edna Hoyt, Dallas; Marie Martin, Fla., and Mary Havenstrite, Moscow; grandchildren, Brandon, Jerry and Nicole Hudak, Archbald; many cousins, nieces, nephews and canine companion, Peanut Butter.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Rev. Paul Bradly of the Peckville Assembly of God Church officiating. Friends may call Friday at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. Interment will be in the Dymond section of Orcutt’s Grove Cemetery, Noxen.
