In other matters, the commissioners accepted the resignation of James Bush from the Planning Commission effective Aug. 2. Commissioner Ciro Cinti thanked Bush for his many years of service.

The township’s fire chief, Carl Baker encouraged all township residents to request a reduction of their homeowner’s fire insurance as of Sept. 1, at which time the township will receive a Class 4 rating from the Insurance Service Office. This number reflects that the township’s fire service rate has improved 50 percent since 2011, according to correspondence from Baker.
