Monday is Earth Day but Target is getting in on the celebration early. Starting at 10 a.m. today, all Target stores will give away a limited number of reusable bags. In total the big box retailer will hand out 1.5 million bags today. There’s a limit of one per customer.

Want to celebrate Mother Earth outdoors? Head to a National Park this week. More than 400 of them are offering free admission tomorrow through Friday including plenty within a day’s drive of Wilkes-Barre. Among those on the list are Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton, The Thomas Edison National Historic Park in West Orange, N.J. and the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt Historic Site in Hyde Park, N.Y.

Lone Star Steakhouse is winding down its three course meal for $12.99 offer so take advantage before it ends Monday. Choose from eight awesome entrees, soup or salad and an appetizer or dessert. The Black & Bleu Sirloin is my favorite with the Blackened Tilapia a close second.

If you believe four is better than three, then head to the Outback (steakhouse that is) for a four-course meal for $15. Check out the details here: http://www.outback.com/menu/outback4_april2013.aspx

Last week I asked readers a trivia question about who holds the Guinness World Record for body piercings. Quite a few of you replied correctly by knowing that it’s held by Elaine Davidson, who has over 9,000 and counting.

I put all the correct answer responders in a hat and drew the name of Shannon Kreidler of Hunlock Creek who will receive the prize of a pack of Poppy Drops, temporary tattoo earrings. Congratulations Shannon. Check your mail as the prize will be arriving soon if it hasn’t come already.

I have another prize to giveaway this week thanks to Paul Williamson, owner of Will-eeze Speedy Lube on Business Route 309 in Wilkes-Barre near Wegmans. He’s currently running a Spring special $21.99 oil and filter change but one lucky winner will get the work done at no cost.

I will select at random from the emails with the correct answer that I receive one winner that will get a voucher for a free oil, lube and filter change. Sound like something you would like? Send me an email with your name and address and “Oil Change” in the subject line before 5 p.m. Tuesday and answer this question correctly to qualify: On Aug. 28, 1859, these two men made the first successful use of a drilling rig on a well drilled especially to produce oil, at a site near Titusville, Pennsylvania?

Good luck readers!
