Ethan Kozden, a fourth-grade student from Wyoming Area Catholic School, Exeter, attended the National Young Scholars Program held in July at Villanova University. The program inspires outstanding third-, fourth- and fifth-grade students to explore, invent, learn and think creatively. Students choose a specific area of study and engage in hands-on, interactive learning. The program culminates with student-created projects tying leadership skills to the discoveries made in their specific area of study. Kozden’s chosen area of study was forensic science.

Area residents were recently inducted into Psi Chi, the national honor society in psychology, at The University of Scranton. Students must major or minor in psychology, ranking in the top 35th percentile of their class and maintain superior schoalrship in psychology. Local students are Allison Daly, Laflin; Leah Davidovich, West Hazleton; and Mark O’Malia Jr., Wilkes-Barre.
