Anna Repak Berzanski, affectionately known as Bana to everyone, passed away on Monday afternoon, Jan. 7, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family.

A daughter of the late Simon and Eva Chomnak Repak, she was born in 1916 and was a lifelong resident of the Hanover section of Nanticoke.

Bana was a beautiful and vibrant woman, even at 96 years. She was also a gifted seamstress, a talented singer and a great cook and baker.

She was a member of Holy Transfiguration of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church, sang in the choir and Deanery Choir for more than 40 years and was a pyrohy lady.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Ignatius, a daughter, Joan, brother, Michael, sister, Mary, and son-in-law, Michael.

Surviving are her daughter, Donna; grandchildren, Kim (Robert) Ferrucci and Rob (Mandy) Cragle; great-grandchildren, Katarina, Adam and Madelyn; a sister, Elizabeth Van Brunt; nieces and nephews.

Divine Liturgy will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday in Holy Transfiguration of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church, 240 Center St., Hanover section of Nanticoke, with the Rev. Volodymyr Popyk, officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Nanticoke.

Friends may call from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday at the Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke.

The family would like to extend thanks to Dr. Jon Olenginski and staff for the wonderful care they provided for Anna.
