LCCC offers CPR courses

Luzerne County Community College will offer CPR courses. Professional CPR/AED will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. tonight and March 12 at the college’s Public Safety Training Institute. Fee is $30 for the course and the CPR card is valid for two years.

The college also will offer a puppy/kitty CPR course from 6 to 9 p.m. March 19 at the college’s Public Safety Training Institute. Fee is $10.

Anti Drug Alliance to meet

The Berwick Anti Drug Alliance will meet at 6 p.m. Feb 18 at the McBride Library in Berwick.

Anger management to be discussed on ‘Call the Doctor’

Anger management will be the next topic on Call the Doctor at 7 tonight on WVIA-TV, Channel 44.

Panelists include R. James Rinck, Geisinger Health System; Michael Church, Ph.D., director of clinical psychology at First Hospital Commonwealth Health; and Glenn Jacobson, a licensed psychologist.

‘State of Pennsylvania’ to feature heart matters

In celebration of February as American Heart Month, heart disease and ways to keep your heart healthy will be discussed at 7 p.m. Thursday on an all-new live State of Pennsylvania on WVIA-TV, Channel 44.WVIA President Bill Kelly will be joined by Dr. Peter Berger, chairman of cardiology for Geisinger Health System and associate chief research officer for the Geisinger Center for Clinical Studies director, and Dr. Alfred Casale, associate chief medical officer for Geisinger Health System and co-director of the Geisinger Heart Institute. Both will share the latest cutting-edge treatments and technologies.

One lucky blood donor will be awarded a vacation getaway

The American Red Cross has partnered with Sundance Vacations to encourage people to give blood. All presenting blood donors through Feb. 28 will be entered into a raffle with a chance to win a getaway of their choice to Myrtle Beach or Hilton Head, S.C.
