Rick Croman (Mr. Croman Sir), 71, of Plunketts Creek Township, Lycoming County, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at his home.

Born Sept. 27, 1941, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late E. Wayne and Marian Skip Heberling Croman. He and his wife, the former Gloria A. Houseknecht, celebrated 51 years of marriage on Aug. 26, 2012.

Rick was a graduate of Hughesville High School, class of 1959. He retired in 1999 from National Freight Trucking, after having worked there for more than 20 years, and was recently employed with D&L Excavating as a truck driver. Rick was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed fishing, hunting and cutting wood with family and friends. He also was quite a jokester who loved animals and was an avid Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are four daughters, Cindy, Wilkes-Barre, Stacey, Harveys Lake, Robin, Harveys Lake, and Lisa, Old Forge; a son, Richard Jr., Harveys Lake; two sisters, Donna (Gary) Sullivan, Hughesville, and Sharon (Richard) Beacham, Australia; a brother, Randy, Dallas; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Pastor Jane O’Borski officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
