Alice E. Trumbower, age 83, of Shavertown, passed away Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 at General Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Swoyersville, Alice was the daughter of the late Thomas and Alexandra Radzwich Kivinski. She attended Swoyersville schools, graduating in 1947.

A medical secretary, Alice worked for the Rural Health Corp. for 16 years and at Allied Services-Heinz Rehabilitation as a medical transcriptionist for 17 years, retiring in 2004 at the age of 74.

Alice resided most of her life in Shavertown.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were husband of 60 years, Edward H. Trumbower; daughter Carol Ann Kearn and son-in-law Charles; sisters Edna Nevolas, Genevieve Kachmar and Elizabeth Pace; brothers, Thomas and William Kivinski.

Surviving are daughter Elaine Turner and husband, Mark, Shavertown; grandchildren, Christine Turner, Mark Turner and wife Tricia, Cynthia Kearn, James Kearn and wife Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Johnathan Edward Turner, Robert and Allie Krisanda, Jesse Kearn, Jacob and Ryan Kearn; sisters Irene Sabol, Julie Kivinski; beloved nephew Doug Trumbower, and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown. The Rev. Jeffrey Tudgay will officiate. Interment will be private at the convenience of family. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
