TUNKHANNOCK, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a school bus has collided with a car in northeastern Pennsylvania, but no serious injuries are being reported.

The accident happened around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday on Route 307 in Tunkhannock Township. Officials say it was a Tunkhannock Area School District bus carrying 35 students to the middle and high schools.

Superintendent Michael Healey says five students were taken to hospitals as a precaution with minor injuries, mostly bumps and bruises.

Healey says the rest of the students were put on another bus and continued to school. He says they’re being checked out by the school nurse and their parents are being notified.
