    Halloween event

    Dallas Kiwanis Club will hold its annual Halloween event for children in day care through middle school at noon today, Oct. 26 at the Back Mountain Regional Fire & EMS Station 121, Dallas Township Fire Hall, intersection of 184 E. Center Hill Road and Church Street, Dallas (next to the Dallas Little League Field).

    Registration is at noon with judging of groups at 12:30 P. M. Prizes will be awarded for the top three winners in each category: Most Original, Funniest, Prettiest, Ugliest, Best Group, and Miscellaneous.

    Games and refreshments will be held immediately following the judging.

    Halloween party

    The Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department, Shavertown, will host a Harvest Festival and Halloween Costume Party from 1 to 3 p.m. today, Oct. 26. Children’s Costume Parade is at 2 p.m. Food and fun for the whole family.

    Halloween party

    The Music Box Trick or Treat Halloween Revue will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31 for trick or treating and games at the Music Box Dinner Playhouse, 196 Hughes St., Swoeyrsville.

    Children are asked to dress in their favorite Halloween costume. A musical revue will be held at 7 p.m.

    Contra dance

    A Contra dance featuring music by Eileen Nicholson on fiddle and accompanied by Jill Smith on keyboard, along with calling by Bob Nicholson will be held a t7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Church of Christ Uniting, 776 Market St., Kingston.

    No partner or previous experience is necessary. Admission to the dance is “pay what you wish.” a pot luck dinner will be offered at 6 p.m.

    Cemetery Assn. meeting

    The annual meeting of the Cedar Crest Cemetery Association will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1 in the conference room at the Dickson Educational Facility, Trucksville United Methodist Church, 40 Knob Hill Road, Trucksville,.

    The agenda will include plans for the future and election of officers.

    Plot owners, descendants of plot owners and friends of the cemetery association are encouraged to attend. Anyone with questions or requests to add items to the agenda for consideration should call 570-696-1332.
