Gordon Dershimer, of Harveys Lake, U.S. Navy Vietnam-era veteran, and his brother David, of Winter Haven, Florida, U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, along with active and inactive military, family members and civilians representing America will meet in Washington, D.C. on Friday, May 23 to perform the task of placing bouquets of blood-red silk flowers at National War Memorials.

Every sponsored “Thank You Bouquet” will contain a personal message of as many as 30 words and will be placed at the National War Memorial of the sponsor’s choice.

The capstone event of the weekend will be held Friday evening when four members of the Memorial Day Foundation will present a wreath of fresh flowers to the Honor Guard for placement at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
