DURYEA — Two people were arraigned Monday on drug charges after police allegedly found crack cocaine and marijuana during a traffic stop.

Clark Bower, 50, address unknown, was charged with three counts each of possession of a controlled substance, conspiracy with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Kimberly Michelle Macklowe, 39, of Main Street, Duryea, was charged with six counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

Bower and Macklowe were jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $25,000 bail each.

Police said Bower was stopped for a traffic violation about 1:40 a.m. and was found with crack cocaine. Macklowe, a passenger in the vehicle, tried to destroy cocaine she had in her possession, police said.

Police allege Macklowe allegedly concealed marijuana in her pants.

Police said they learned Bower purchases crack cocaine from Macklowe and receives free crack from her by giving her rides to various locations.

Preliminary hearings are scheduledfor March 6.

HANOVER TWP. — Township police reported the following:

An unknown white male did not pay for merchandise at The Tractor Supply store on the Sans Souci Parkway on Sunday. An employee stopped the suspect and retrieved the merchandise.

The suspect drove away in a silver truck.

Police said the driver of a silver or gray Pontiac drove away after crashing into a fence at Saint Mary’s Cemetery on Monday. The vehicle was traveling on South Main Street and went off the road before crossing both lanes of traffic crashing into the fence about 9:10 a.m.
