HANOVER TWP. – Police said Dexter Gallishaw, 44, of South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre was arrested on Friday night on an outstanding warrant from the Luzerne County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on a charge of driving under the influence. He was taken into custody at approximately 11:30 p.m. after police responded to a report of a suspicious male in the area of the 500 block of Hanover Village.

HAZLETON – City police are investigating a hit-and-run crash involving a residence Saturday morning. A vehicle was making a U turn at the intersection of West Sixth Street and Hanover Court around 6:35 a.m., struck a residence in the area and fled.

HAZLE TWP. – State police are investigation the discovery Saturday of a dead pitbull mixed-breed dog along Harwood Road. The dog, found at 7:26 a.m., had a leash, collar and 2012 Luzerne County dog license.

PLAINS TWP. – A Hunlock Creek man was taken to a local hospital Saturday morning after he called Luzerne County 911 to report that he had consumed a lot of alcohol and his liver was hurting, police said.

Just before midnight Friday police responded to the area of state Route 315 across from the Woodlands Inn and Resort and located Jesse Bixby.

PLYMOUTH TWP. – State police reported the theft of approximately 10 feet of copper wire and two Dell laptop computers during a break-in at a UGI Utilities maintenance building on West Mountain Road. A hole was cut in a metal fence to get on the property and a hole was cut into the side of the building, state police said. The burglary occurred between 2:20 a.m. and 3:20 a.m. on Feb. 23.

WILKES-BARRE – City police reported the following:

•A woman noticed her license plate missing Friday while loading bags into the trunk of her vehicle at Penn Plaza on South Main Street. The Pennsylvania plate HTV6323 was stolen between noon and 4 p.m.

•India Griffen told police Friday night she was pushed be a man known to her at her friend’s residence on Darling Street. A charge of harassment will be filed against the suspect.

•Dalila Torres, 42, of Philadelphia, was arrested Thursday night on an outstanding warrant from Montgomery County after police were called to the Rite Aid on East Northampton Street for a woman attempting to obtain 120 Oxycodone pills with a forged prescription. Pharmacy technicians told police that the doctor’s phone number on the prescription was incorrect.

They also said they knew it was forged because another person came in with the same prescription two days earlier.Torres was taken into custody and charged with criminal attempt to obtain a controlled substance.

She was held in the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $2,500 bail.

•Brenda Battle, 47, was charged with disorderly conduct Friday. She interfered with police serving paperwork on a relative at a residence on South Pennsylvania Avenue, police said.
