Ruth Audrey Shirk, 94, of Kingston, formerly of Milton, Lewisburg and Dallas, died January 27, 2010, at ManorCare, Kingston.
She was born August 9, 1915, in Northumberland, a daughter of the late Malcolm E. and Pauline (Fisher) Hannon. On January 30, 1937, in Frederick, MD, she was united in marriage to Neal Franklin Shirk, who passed away on September 9, 1977. She was a graduate of Northumberland High School, and was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church, Lewisburg. She worked as an executive secretary at the former Philco/Ford, Watsontown.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia A. Zellers; a devoted companion, Dr. Robert M. Bastress, of Selinsgrove; three sisters, Dorothy E. Buss, Mary H. Weidner, Etta M. Hannon; and one grandson, Adam Miller.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Neal R. and wife, Helen, of New Cumberland; one daughter, Judith A. Miller, of West Pittston; one brother and sister-in-law, Malcolm E. and Arlene Hannon, of Arlington; nine grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Jan. 30 at Schwartz-Adamo Funeral and Cremation Services, Mifflinburg, with Certified Lay Pastor of the Northumberland Presbytery, Robert Kribbs, officiating. Burial Hartleton Cemetery, Hartley Twp. To send condolences visit .
