The past week saw a major shift in the standings of the Wyoming Valley American Legion baseball league.
Plymouth and Old Forge now lead the division at 7-3 with Mountain Post fourth at 7-4.
Post 513 players Justin Shuleski and BJ Bochicchio both advanced during the American Legion Scouts All Star Game at Connell Park last week.
Shuleski, a Duryea resident, advanced as a pitcher for the Region 5 team which will take on a team from Region 2 on July 1 at Salisbury HS.
Bochicchio, a Riverside junior, homered in his only at bat.
AJ Phillips and Derek Gawel each smacked two hits to lead Old Forge Post 513 to a 7-2 win over Back Mountain at Pagnotti Park on Monday.
Gawel smashed a two-run homer run in the bottom of the second and Phillips stroked an RBI double during a five-run fourth.
Ryan Chisdock also smacked a two-run double during the fourth, and Jay Velehoski and Josh Plisko each added RBI
Velehoski picked up the win, allowing just two hits in five innings. He also fanned seven.
Old Forge lost 18-5 to Plains on Thursday at Pagnotti Park.
BJ Bochicchio doubled twice to lead Post 513 at the plate. The Riverside shortstop also scored a run and drove one in.
Justin Shuleski also had two hits for Old Forge.
Post 513 managed just two hits in an 8-3 lossto Wilkes-Barre .
Old Forge could not take advantage of eight walks by the WB pitcher.
Jon Woytach and Justin Shuleski each singled for Old Forge. BJ Bochicchio and Shuleski drove in runs for Post 513.
