Edward J. Novitsky, 68, of Kingston Township and Carverton, died Jan. 20, 2009 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born Dec. 19, 1940, in West Pittston, he was a son of the late Edward and Anna Alonis Novitsky. He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini, Carverton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by PP&L.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Johanna Adamitz.
He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Ann Andrejko; son Edward and his wife, Chieko, Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.; daughter Jeanne Scandle and her husband, Brian, of Snydertown, Pa.; grandchildren Erika and Edward Novitsky; sister Terry Howard; nieces and nephews.
The funeral was Jan. 24 from the Bednarski Funeral Home, Wyoming, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Frances Cabrini Church, Carverton. Interment, Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
