Mary Maziarz, of Duryea, died August 6, 2008 after an illness. Her husband, Matthew (Perry) Maziarz, passed away on Nov. 5, 1980.
Born in Duryea, she was a daughter of the late John and Helen Samulka Mikolosko. She was a graduate of Duryea High School. For many years, she was employed by the former Fairway Grocers, Duryea. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Starr Pipe Co., Moosic. She was a member of St. Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Catholic Church, Old Forge.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Michael, John, George, Joseph; three sisters, Helen Metcho, Anna Mikolosko and infant Mary Mikolosko.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Lucille Maziarz, Duryea, Jane Mikolosko, Forty Fort, Elaine Mikolosko, Swoyersville; brother-in-law Thomas Maziarz, Florida; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Funeral was Aug. 7 from the Piontek Funeral Home, Duryea, followed by Divine Liturgy in St. Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Catholic Church, Old Forge. Interment, S.S. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Duryea.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the ALS Foundation.
