Dominick Salerno, 92, of Old Forge, passed away January 17, 2008, at Allied Skilled Nursing in Scranton. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, the former Rena Nardelli.
Born in Old Forge, on May 10, 1915, Dominick was a son of the late Frank and Lena (Caroccia) Salerno.
Dominick graduated from Old Forge High School, Class of 1932, and worked 32 years for various coal mining companies, and prior to retirement, spent 10 years with the Trane Corporation.
He was also a member of St. Mary of the Assumption R.C. Church in Old Forge and a union official of the United Mine Workers of America.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Anthony L. Salerno; his daughter, Donna M. Salerno; grandsons Christopher Salerno, and Anthony Salerno with his wife, Jodi; great-grandsons Michael Salerno and Matthew Salerno.
Funeral was Jan. 19 from the Kearney Funeral Home, Old Forge, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary of the Assumption R.C. Church, Old Forge. Interment, Old Forge Cemetery.
