Annabel E. Hoover, RN, Clarks Summit, died Saturday, June 30 at Moses Taylor Hospital. Her husband was Lawrence M. Hoover and the couple was married 59 years last April.
Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Marie Lenz. She has been a resident of Clarks Summit since 1962. Prior to retirement she was a Registered nurse for Allied Services, Keystone College and various hospitals throughout Scranton. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Clarks Summit and its Altar Guild, as well as a Sunday School Teacher. She was an avid volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program for many years.
She was a graduate of Hudson River State Hospital and received additional training in New York City Hospitals as well as Syracuse University and the Cadet Nurse Corp during WWII. Her life revolved around her family and her church.
Also surviving are a son, Mark E., Lake Wallenpaupack; a daughter, Peg Polard, Gilbertsville; three grandchildren, Jessica and Kevin Hoover and Anthony Polard.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Davies.
A memorial service was held on July 5 from the Trinity Lutheran Church, 205 W. Grove St., Clarks Summit, with services by Rev. George J. Mathews Jr., pastor. Interment will be in Woodland Memorial Garden, Glenburn.
