Thomas F. Skowronski, 84, of Duryea, passed away, Wednesday morning, August 1, 2007, at his home. Born in Duryea, he was a son of the late Stanley and Anna (Tykarski) Skowronski. He was a graduate of Duryea High School. He was also a graduate of the University of Scranton, where he majored in Business and Accounting. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a manager for American Tobacco Co., Mountain Top, for 37 years. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Duryea, and was a member of the American Legion Post 585, Duryea. He was preceded in death by one sister, Lottie Olsheski, who passed away January 30, 2003. He is survived by his wife, the former Florence Wascavage, with whom he celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this past June 3; daughter Joyce Jones and her husband, Edward, of Duryea; brothers Bernard Skowronski, of Midland, Mich., and Chester Skowronski, of South River, N.J.; nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Aug. 4 from the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main St., Duryea, with a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Rosary Church, Duryea. Interment, parish cemetery, Duryea.
