FORTY FORT: Forty Fort United Methodist Church will conduct a ladies Bible study at 10 a.m. beginning March 7. The program is titled, “Daniel: Lives of Integrity, Words of Prophecy,” by Beth Moore. For more information, call 287-3840.


PLYMOUTH: The Plymouth Ministerium will hold its annual Lenten ecumenical soup and scripture services on the following Thursdays:



11 a.m., All Saints Parish, Willow Street



11 a.m., Christian Church, Main Street



11 a.m., Pilgrim Congregational Church, Center and East Shawnee avenues



11 a.m., First Welsh Baptist Church, Girard and West Shawnee avenues.


A Good Friday service will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on March 29 at First Welsh Baptist Church, Girard and West Shawnee avenues, Plymouth.


WILKES-BARRE: Church Women United of Wyoming Valley will observe World Day of Prayer on March 1. This year’s theme is “I Was a Stranger and You Welcomed Me.”


The following churches will be observing the event:


• 1 p.m., St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 35 S. Franklin St. Those who wish to participate in the service are asked to contact Lyn Conahan, 822-6347.


• 1 p.m., St. Faustina Church. Alma Berlot is chairperson. Participating churches include First English Baptist, St. John Lutheran, State Street; United Methodist; First Presbyterian; St. John Lutheran Church, Hanover Street, Nanticoke; Berean Lighthouse. Organist will be Bill Borysewicz and the Rev. Nash will be speaker. Participants include Cathy Mack, Alice Pawloski, Grace Nagle, Charlotte Golobek, Judith Hodorowski, Phyllis Warren, Gloria Eget, Dorothy Hudak, Lois Walting, Myrtle Herring, Mary Bau, Berlot, Carol Sukowski, the Rev. Sylvia Thomas, Pastor Andrea McDonnell, Margaret Armstrong and Joan Prestash. St. Faustina’s Women’s Council will host the refreshment committee after the service with Marian Samselski, Council president.


All area women’s groups are encouraged to attend this non-denominational service.


WILKES-BARRE: Unity of NEPA: A Spiritual Center; 140 South Grant St., Wilkes-Barre, has announced the following:



Second Saturday Spiritual Cinema features “The Secret.” Doors open at 6:30 p.m. at Unity of NEPA. A free-will offering will be taken.



Oneness meditation with Ernie Pappa from 7-8:30 p.m.



Wednesday Webinar: The Spiritual Leader as Coach. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. at Unity of NEPA in Harmony Hall. A free-will offering will be taken.



The Bridge”: A 7 Stage Map to Redefine Your Life and Purpose by Dr. Marilyn Powers and Steve Viglione. Unity will continue the adult book study series with Richard Pacheco covering Phase 3: Manifesting what you want. Class begins 6:30 p.m. A free-will offering will be taken.



Mysteries of John; Unity Bible Study Class in Harmony Hall. Class begins at 11:45 a.m. after the Sunday morning potluck. Cost for the class is a free-will offering.

LUZERNE COUNTY: The Ladies of Charity of the Diocese of Scranton are preparing to have their annual Day of Enrollment on April 20. The group is looking for women who are actively volunteering their time performing various works of charity in Wilkes-Barre and surrounding areas. To become a member, call Christine Palmiter, president, at 868-3959 for information.


PLYMOUTH: The celebration of Saint David’s Day will take place at First Welsh Baptist Church at 10 a.m. March 24. Singing of the Welsh hymns will take place during the worship service, under the direction of the Rev. Anita J. Ambrose, host pastor.


The Adult and Childrens Choirs, under the direction of Barbara Futchel, organist and choir director, will be singing special anthems.


WYOMING: A special drumming worship service will be presented by Dr. Godlove Fonjweng, director of global education at Wilkes University and an accomplished African drummer, at 10:30 a.m. March 3 at Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Wyoming Valley, Church and Mt. Olivet roads.
