Commonwealth Health has named a new chief information officer and trauma surgeon.

Denis Tucker has been named chief information officer at Commonwealth Health.

In this capacity, Tucker will lead the management information systems department for the network which includes six hospitals and numerous physician offices, clinics and diagnostic centers.

Tucker has 30 years of experience in the health care information technology field, having worked for Main Line Health and Riddle Hospital in suburban Philadelphia where he served as director of technology and chief information officer. He is a member of the Healthcare Information Management Executives and a board member of the Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union in Broomall.

He and his wife, Janet, live in Dallas. They have two children, Michael and Krista.

Jaromir Kohout, MD, a trauma surgeon, has joined the medical staff of Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Dr. Kohout is board certified in general surgery, thoracic surgery and surgical critical care. He studied at Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic and completed residencies in general surgery at Lankenau Hospital, Wynnewood, and in cardiothoracic surgery at Yale University.

Dr. Kohout also completed fellowship training in cardiothoracic surgery at Harvard University Brighman and Women’s Hospital and trauma/surgical critical care at Albany Medical Center.
