Charles R. Hughes M.D., FACS, FASCRS, has been hired by Delta Medix, Scranton.
Hughes joins Delta Medix as a general and colon and rectal surgeon. His expertise and skills are now available to patients at Delta Medix Surgery at Regional Hospital of Scranton, 743 Jefferson Ave., Scranton.
A native of Bucks County, Hughes graduated summa cum laude from Bucknell University and received his Doctorate of Medicine degree from the Pennsylvania State College of Medicine. He completed a general surgery residency at Abington Memorial Hospital and a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He received research awards at both institutions.
Board certified in general and colorectal surgery, Hughes provides surgical and medical care for a wide range of colon, anorectal and small intestinal diseases including colonoscopy, minimally invasive surgery and anorectal procedures. He has interest in all aspects of colorectal surgery, more specifically colon cancer screening and minimally invasive surgery.
