WILKES-BARRE — After a 42-year career of service to the banking industry and Community Bank N.A., Dallas resident Bob Matley has retired.

Throughout his career, Matley held numerous positions with various banks, including management trainee at United Penn Bank commercial lending, executive vice president at Hanover Bank, and president and chief operating officer at First Heritage Bank. He joined Community Bank N.A. in 2004 and has served as regional president since 2008.

Matley has been active in community activities, serving past or present on the boards of the Greater Wilkes-Barre Industrial Fund, Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, Greater Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania Chamber of Business & Industry, and Northeast Pennsylvania Council, Boy Scouts of America.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in commerce and finance and Master of Business Administration from Wilkes University. Matley is also a graduate of the Stonier School of Banking.
