WILKES-BARRE — The city has two new businesses on South Main Street — a tattoo parlor and a barber shop.
Electric City Tattoo, which has another location in Scranton, opened July 14 at 94 S. Main St., known as the Allegheny Lofts building.
Loyalty Barber Shop, with locations in Archbald and Scranton, will open Tuesday in the rear of the same building as Electric City Tattoo.
The tattoo parlor is owned by Nick Frenchko, of Kingston, and his partners, Elijah Birtel, Michael Wodock and Mike Frenchko, Nick’s brother.
Loyalty Barber is owned by James Simon, Brian Nardella and Anthony Ranella.
Frenchko said a lot of Luzerne County residents traveled to Scranton to patronize the tattoo parlor there, so he and his partners decided to open a location in Wilkes-Barre.
“We think this move will make it easier for our customers from down here and we hope to attract some new clients,” Frenchko said. “We also feel with two colleges in the downtown, it gives us a big market to draw from.”
Frenchko said the business is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information, or to schedule an appointment, call 570-822-3800.
Frenchko said the business employs four tattoo artists and one piercer.
Loyalty Barber Shop will offer proper gentlemen’s haircuts and straight razor shaves. The shop will be open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
