WILKES-BARRE — A man is facing theft charges after he allegedly stole money from a tip jar inside CJ’s Pizza.
Police said at that at approximately 8:38 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to a theft complaint at the restaurant on Spring Street. Employees reported money missing from the tip jar that was on the counter, and police identified Bernard Nelson, 37, of Wilkes-Barre, as the suspect from surveillance video.
The video allegedly showed Nelson taking cash from the jar then fleeing the business, according to police.
Nelson is facing charges of theft by unlawful taking in District Court 11-1-02.
