WILKES-BARRE — Police took a man into custody twice early Sunday for public intoxication.

According to police, Jeffrey Klinesmith, 39, was in being released to a responsible party at 3:28 a.m. from police custody at headquarters.

Klinesmith fled on foot from the person who was responsible from him as the two were leaving the station. Officers then relocated Klinesmith and took him back into custody.

He was held until he was sober enough to be re-released.

Klinesmith was issued a citation for public intoxication.
