Randy and Barbara Gimble of Larksville and Andrew and Joan Minnick of Glen Lyon announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their children, Lurena Rachel Gimble and Andrew Michael Minnick Jr.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Irene and Joseph Gimble, Larksville and the late John and Lurene Dobias.

The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Joseph and Dolores Minnick and the late Andrew and Sophie Kmetz.

The bride-to-be is a 2003 graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School. In 2007, she earned her bachelor’s degree in secondary education and special education from Wilkes University. She attended Wilkes University for graduate school and earned her first master’s degree in education in 2009 and earned her second master’s degree in education in 2011. She is employed by the Northwest Area School District as an elementary life skills teacher.

The prospective groom is a 2002 graduate of Greater Nanticoke Area High School. In 2008, he earned his bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Temple University. He is employed by the United States Department of Justice.

The couple resides in Courtdale with their dog, LuLu Bella.

Lurena and Andrew were engaged on Aug. 18, 2015 in Miami, Florida. They will be united in marriage on Aug. 6, 2016 at St. Ignatius of Loyola, Kingston.
