Mr. and Mrs. Francis J. Hoegen, of Kingston, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Lael McLaughlin, to Eric Richard McGann, son of Mr. Kevin J. McGann, of Ridgewood, New Jersey and the late Stephanie McGann.

Lael is the granddaughter of the late Christine Jeffrey McLaughlin and the late Thomas V. McLaughlin, of Wilkes-Barre, and the late Peter J. and Maureen McGovern Hoegen, of Kingston Township. She is also a step-granddaughter of Nancy Hagan McLaughlin, of Plains.

Eric is the grandson of Marlene and Richard Dohr, of Naples, Florida and Joan McGann of Hudson, Florida. He is also a grandson of the late Edward McGann.

The bride-to-be is a 2009 graduate of Holy Redeemer High School, Wilkes-Barre and a 2013 graduate of Villanova University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication arts. Lael is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration degree from Villanova University School of Business. She is currently employed as the assistant director of First and Second Year Initiatives at Villanova.

The prospective groom is a 2009 graduate of Benet Academy, Lisle, Illinois and graduated cum laude from Villanova University in 2013, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy and international business. Eric is a licensed certified public account and is currently employed as an audit senior with Deloitte in Philadelphia.

The couple will exchange vows at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, Villanova, Dec. 17, 2016.
