WILKES-BARRE — In this Times Leader archive photo from 1983, Public Square is covered with snow during the holiday season.

On Saturday, shoppers taking part in the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce’s Christmas in July won’t have to contend with winter weather, but rather persistent heat.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts will host an indoor marketplace as part of the holiday-themed Small Business Saturday event that features local vendors and artists.
