WILKES-BARRE — The F.M. Kirby Center for the Perforoming Arts announced an Oct. 7 engagement with Grammy-nominated progressive metal band Dream Theater.

The band is touring in support of their latest album, Jan. 29’s “The Astonishing,” which debuted at No. 11 on the US Billboard 200 chart. The record — Dream Theater’s second concept album — tells the story of a dystopian empire that regulates music with an iron fist.

Kirby Center members can purchase tickets for Dream Theater’s Wilkes-Barre date starting 10 a.m. Aug. 3; sales open to the general public 10 a.m. Aug. 5. Prices range from $34.75 to $54.75. To buy tickets, visit KirbyCenter.org or call 570-826-1100.

Long Island, New York’s Dream Theater will play Wilkes-Barre’s F.M. Kirby Center Oct. 7. The progressive metal band has 13 studio albums under their belt, along with a number of platinum-certified longform music videos.
