WILKES-BARRE — The truth is coming to F.M. Kirby Center, and it’s wearing a cowboy hat.

At 8 p.m. Oct. 6, the 41 Public Square, venue welcomes actor, comedian and country music artist Rodney Carrington for a night of comedy on his Here Comes the Truth tour.

Carrington’s 2014 comedy album “Laughter’s Good” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Overall Comedy chart, adding to his gold record for 2000’s “Morning Wood” and following up two No. 2 releases in 2009’s “El Nino Loco” and 2007’s “King of the Mountains.”

Tickets for Carrington’s comedy act, which combines stand up with original musicianship, go on sale 10 a.m. Aug. 26 and start at $29. Kirby Center members have access to a 10 a.m. Aug. 24 pre-sale. Tickets can be purchased online at KirbyCenter.org, in person at Kirby Center’s box office or by phone at 570-826-1100.
