WILKES-BARRE — Returning for the fourth time in five years, Dweezil Zappa will perform at 8 p.m. Aug. 3 at the F.M. Kirby Center, 71 Public Square, on his Cease and Desist tour.

Son of the legendary Frank Zappa, Dweezil Zappa toured for 10 years under the name Zappa Plays Zappa before a family feud over copyright infringement led him to change his banner to Dweezil Zappa Plays Frank Zappa last summer.

“At the end of the day, I believe my father’s music deserves to be heard not silenced,” Zappa said in a recent blog post. “I will now be playing it with an even stronger resolve than ever before under the name my father gave me — Dweezil Zappa.”

Ticket range from $22.50 to $68.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. March 3 at the Kirby Center box office, online at kirbycenter.org and by phone at 570-826-1100.

A Kirby member pre-sale will begin at 10 a.m. March 1 through the same outlets.
