Mandolin player and vocalist J.P. Biondo of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton-based bluegrass ensemble Cabinet spoke to the Times Leader in March to discuss the upcoming fifth rendition of the band’s hometown music festival, Susquehanna Breakdown.

At the time, the Americana outfit had just finished recording their latest album, “Cool River.” While Biondo couldn’t comment on the release date of the album in the interview, he did offer, “I feel it should be our best yet.”

In a Relix article published April 18, “Cool River” was projected to be released on Oct. 13, and the album’s first single, “Bottom of the Sea,” was premiered.

“Bottom of the Sea” will be available through digital outlets April 21. For a first listen, visit relix.com.

According to Relix, NEPA-rooted Americana ambassadors Cabinet will release ‘Cool River’ in October.
