Bus trip to Vatican Exhibit in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA: Marywood’s Life Long Learners will have a bus trip to see the Vatican Splendor Exhibit at the Franklin Institute on Wednesday, Oct. 7. The exhibit will feature items from 2,000 years of Vatican history. The group will have a late lunch at Mosulu, a four diamond restaurant in Philadelphia. The bus will leave at 7:45 a.m. from Marywood with a second pick up at the Pittston park and ride. The cost is $125. For reservations call 570-3830544.

Shickshinny Choir Seeks New Members

SHICKSHINNY: The Shickshinny Area community choir is seeking new members of all ages and skill levels as it begins to prepare for its Christmas performances.

Rehearsals begin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at First United Methodist Church, 6 East Butler Street, Shickshinny.

The choir will be preparing the cantata “Appalachian Winter” by Joseph Martin for a Lessons and Carols service at the church at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 20.
